KM ZERO and Veganic Join Forces to Connect Agriculture, Innovation and Retail from the Source

Index

At Veganic, we are taking a new step forward in our vision to transform agriculture from the source. We have formalized a strategic alliance with KM ZERO Food Innovation Hub to accelerate the development and consolidation of Veganic Food Care, our project designed to support the arrival of fruits and vegetables in the retail channel with fewer residues, greater traceability and sustainable, measurable and verifiable production.

Through this partnership, we become part of KM ZERO’s global community, an ecosystem made up of more than 200 companies, 500 startups and 40 investment funds, alongside key players across the entire agri-food chain. This collaboration will allow us to generate new synergies with corporations, retailers, producers and strategic agents in the sector through open innovation dynamics, sector meetings and collaborative projects focused on transforming the future of food.

As Beatriz Jacoste, CEO of KM ZERO, states: “Science shows us the relationship between soil health and the quality of the products it generates. We want to promote solutions such as the one proposed by Veganic to bring life back to the soil and flavor back to fruits and vegetables. The future of agriculture lies at the intersection of efficacy, profitability and respect for the environment.”

From Field to Shelf: Measurable Production, Sustainability and Transparency

This alliance was created with the purpose of connecting agricultural innovation with the current demands of the food system. Today, consumers, supermarkets and producers share a common concern: moving towards safer, healthier and more sustainable food, without compromising the productivity or profitability of agricultural operations.

At Veganic, we believe that the transformation of the food system begins at the source: in how we grow, how we protect crops and how we understand the relationship between agriculture, health and sustainability.

As Carlos Ledó, CEO of Veganic, explains: “We believe that the transformation of the food system begins at the source: in how we grow, how we protect crops and how we understand the relationship between agriculture and health. Being part of the KM ZERO ecosystem represents a strategic opportunity to accelerate this vision and collaborate with players who are redefining the future of food.”

Veganic Food Care: A New Way to Connect Agriculture and Food

Within this context, Veganic Food Care was born: a strategic project developed by Veganic in collaboration with supermarkets and agricultural producers, designed to promote more sustainable agriculture through advanced Integrated Pest Management —IPM— programs and soil health strategies.

Our goal is to promote the production of fruits and vegetables with fewer residues, under sustainable and measurable agricultural systems, strengthening food safety, nutritional quality and the connection between agriculture, well-being and sustainability.

Veganic Food Care involves the entire value chain and is based on comprehensive crop protection protocols that combine biocontrol solutions, beneficial insects, continuous monitoring and a reduced and selective use of products for pest and disease control.

This model allows us to move towards effective and sustainable management of the main phytosanitary challenges, promoting more resilient crops and more responsible, transparent agricultural production aligned with the new demands of the market.

Veganic in The Food Changemakers Think Tank and ftalks Food Summit

Thanks to this alliance, Carlos Ledó will also become part of The Food Changemakers Think Tank, the largest food innovation think tank in Europe, promoted by KM ZERO and made up of more than 150 leaders and CEOs who are defining the roadmap for the sector.

In addition, at Veganic we will bring our proposal to the hub’s flagship event, ftalks The Food Changemakers Summit, the leading forum on food innovation in Europe, which returns to Valencia on September 16 to celebrate its 8th edition.

This event has become a key space to connect innovation, industry and investment in food, and represents an opportunity to continue sharing our vision: a smarter, more sustainable agriculture connected to the real needs of producers, consumers and retailers.
