Veganic Food Care

Less chemical residues. Greater control.
A safer supply chain

Veganic® Food Care connects growers, supermarkets, and distributors to promote agricultural production with lower chemical residues, supporting safer, more sustainable food aligned with evolving consumer expectations.

Through Integrated Pest Management protocols (IPM) and soil health strategies, it reduces the use of synthetic crop protection products from the source while maintaining crop productivity, farmer profitability, and greater traceability across the food supply chain.

Supermarket

Sets the residue and quality standard for its supply base, and gets fruit and vegetables with lower residues plus the evidence to back it.

Growers

Apply the IPM protocol in the field, with technical support, maintained productivity and better margins.

Veganic and its distributors

Veganic designs the programme, trains the teams and measures the KPIs as an independent technical partner; the local distributor supplies the product range.

7 quantitative and measurable KPIs

N. Chemical Treatments

Measures the number of synthetic chemical applications required throughout the crop cycle.

Residues at Harvest (MLRs)

Measures pesticide residue levels detected in the harvested product against permitted limits.

Soil & Microbiome Health

Evaluates soil biological activity, nutrient availability, and the development of beneficial microbial populations.

Environmental Impact (EIQ)

Assesses the overall environmental and toxicological impact of the crop protection strategy.

Profitability (ROI)

Measures the economic return generated by the strategy considering costs, yield, and commercial performance.

Yield (Kg/Ha)

Measures total crop productivity per hectare under real commercial production conditions.

Pest & Disease Control

Evaluates the effectiveness of the strategy in managing key pests and diseases throughout the crop cycle.

Proven field results

This commercial success case in greenhouse snack cucumber was carried out over 12,000 m² in Almería (Spain), with 20,000 plants/ha. Compared with the farmer’s conventional IPM program, the Veganic strategy achieved a lower chemical and residue burden while maintaining strong crop efficacy, agronomic performance and profitability.

Frequently asked questions

Does Food Care mean giving up conventional crop protection?

No. The aim is to reduce reliance on synthetic chemistry wherever agronomically possible, integrating biosolutions, IPM strategies and biological tools while maintaining effective crop management.

Who is Veganic® Food Care for?

It is designed for growers, supermarkets and distributors looking to reduce chemical residues, strengthen crop management and move towards a more sustainable and controlled food supply chain.

Which crops can Food Care be applied to?

Each program is developed according to the crop, production system and specific agronomic challenges, allowing the strategy to be adapted rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach.

How do you verify that the strategy is working?

Performance is evaluated through measurable agronomic, environmental and economic KPIs, providing objective data to assess the impact of the strategy throughout the production process.

Does a more sustainable strategy mean higher costs for the grower?

Food Care is designed to consider economic viability alongside sustainability, with productivity and farmer profitability forming part of the overall evaluation of each strategy.

How long does it take to see results?

It depends on the crop, production cycle and objectives being evaluated. Each program is monitored over the period required to generate meaningful data and assess its agronomic, environmental and economic impact.
